If you want a psychic reading in Maldon or Heybridge, a video call from home is the honest default, because the town has no railway station. Meeting in person means coming into London: a bus or drive to Witham or Chelmsford, then a Greater Anglia train to Liverpool Street.
I'm Michelle Virtue, a professionally trained Psychic Medium, Spiritual Coach and Intuitive Teacher. Below, I've set out how readings, healing and tuition work from this side of the Blackwater.
Zoom readings from Maldon to Burnham-on-Crouch
People on this stretch of the Essex coast tend to live at a different pace from the commuter towns. Days can be shaped by the tide, the boatyards, the farming calendar or a long drive to work. A reading on Zoom fits that rhythm, because there is nothing to catch and nowhere to be except a quiet room of your own.
You book a slot online and the link arrives by email. At the time, settle somewhere you feel safe, with your phone on silent. My reading draws on intuition, oracle cards laid out between us and a steady sense of your energy, describing each thing as it shows itself, in everyday words. People from Tollesbury, Wickham Bishops and Burnham-on-Crouch log on from kitchens, boats and garden rooms, and the reading is just as clear as it would be across a table.
The questions people bring from around the estuary are as varied as anywhere: a relationship that has run its course, a business on the quayside that needs a new direction, retirement arriving and with it a sense of not knowing who you are without work, or caring for a parent and losing yourself in it. We look at what is really happening and what your next sensible step might be.
A 30-minute Zoom reading is £75, and an hour is £135. Some people like the Clarity Trilogy, three half-hour readings over a period of weeks, when a situation is unfolding slowly.
Mediumship and a town that remembers
Maldon has been remembering its dead for over a thousand years. In 991 the English, led by Byrhtnoth, fought Viking raiders on the causeway to Northey Island, and the Old English poem about the battle, which survives in part, is still read today for what it says about loyalty and grief. His statue now looks out over the water from the end of the promenade.
Grief in a small town can feel very public, and many people would rather explore it privately. A sitting with me as a medium is a quiet, respectful attempt to make contact with someone you've lost and share whatever comes through. I'm honest about the limits: no one can guarantee who will come through, or what they'll want to say. What I can promise is care, plain language and enough time for you to take it in.
On Zoom you can have someone you trust sitting just out of view, or nobody at all. You can keep a photograph near you if that feels right, though it isn't needed. And when we finish, a walk along the promenade by the river is there to help you come back to yourself.
Healing at the pace of the tide
Watching the tide come up the estuary to the Hythe Quay, where the red-sailed Thames barges are moored, you see how much can change slowly and without force. Healing works a little like that. I'm a Certified Reiki Master Practitioner, and my Reiki and healing work is for people who feel worn down, stuck or out of balance and want a calm, gentle space to recover.
My 60-minute readings include a measure of energetic realignment, which many people use as a soft way in. Full Reiki and healing sessions happen only in London, in person, so from Maldon they mean the same trip as a face-to-face reading; we can talk through whether that suits you at the free consultation. Please treat Reiki and energy healing as complementary. They don't take the place of medical care, and anything health-related should always go to your GP first.
Private development tuition, one to one on Zoom
Heybridge Basin, where the old canal from Chelmsford meets the estuary, is one of the most peaceful spots in Essex. That kind of stillness suits reflective learning, and for anyone around Maldon who wants to understand their own intuition, I'd suggest private development sessions one to one rather than a group.
We go at your pace. Some people arrive as complete beginners, with a feeling they can't name and a lot of questions. Others already give readings and want to steady their confidence, clear a block or deepen their mediumship. Sessions are planned around you and held on Zoom, so you never need to make the long trip in. I'm warm, but I'm also firm about grounding and ethics, because good development is built slowly.
A very well orchestrated class. The teacher is very supportive, with lots of love and kindness, at the same time firm and disciplined in the teaching.

Can I still meet you in London if I live in Maldon?
Yes, and some people would rather sit with someone face to face. From Maldon, the usual routes are by bus or car to Witham or Chelmsford, then the train into Liverpool Street. With connections, plan on around an hour and a half each way, and set aside most of a day. There's no public address, so the place itself is confirmed privately when you book.
If you do make the trip, give yourself slack in the timings. Buses and connections don't always line up, and it's far better to arrive with ten minutes to spare than rushing in flustered. Bring water, and something to note down anything you want to remember on the way home.
Chelmsford has the more frequent trains, while Witham is usually the nearer drive from Wickham Bishops and the villages to the north. Pick a midday appointment so you aren't relying on an early bus connection, and if the weather or a missed bus derails the day, move the booking from your confirmation email.
This was my first experience having any form of psychic reading… as soon as I arrived I was put at ease.

A first conversation from Maldon and Heybridge
If you haven't had any kind of session before, the free Intuitive Clarity Consultation is the gentlest way in. We spend twenty minutes on Zoom talking about what's going on for you, and I'll suggest what might help, whether that's a reading, healing, tuition or nothing at all for now. I don't read for you during that call. It's simply a chance to see if we're a good fit.
For other towns in the county, see the Essex page. Readings and healing offer guidance and comfort, but they are not a substitute for medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, and all clients must be 18 or over.
