I give gentle psychic and mediumship readings to people across South London, in person in London by appointment or on Zoom: £100 in person or £75 on Zoom for 30 minutes, and £160 or £135 for 60 minutes. For mediumship I suggest 60 minutes. No one can promise who will come through, and I'll always tell you honestly what I receive.

South London is a place of strong communities: extended families in Croydon, neighbours who have known each other for decades in Peckham, church halls, market traders and friends who gather on Clapham Common the moment the sun comes out. I'm Michelle Virtue, and this page is for South London clients looking for a psychic medium they can talk to openly, often after a loss. This page is about grief, connection with loved ones in Spirit, and the healing that can sit alongside both.

The Butterfly Academy is a London service-area practice with no public address. In-person readings take place in London, with the details confirmed when you book, and Zoom sessions are always available if you'd rather stay at home.

When grief brings you to a psychic medium

Loss changes everything, and it rarely follows a neat timetable. Some people book a reading weeks after a funeral. Others wait years, until a birthday, an anniversary or a quiet evening brings the questions back. There is no right moment, and there is nothing unusual about wanting to feel close to someone you've lost.

My own calling became clear after my father's passing, when a visitation dream confirmed what I had sensed for a long time. I know from my own life how much comfort a sign can bring, and how fragile you can feel while you wait for one. That understanding shapes every mediumship sitting I give.

In a mediumship reading I work to make a connection with Spirit and pass on what I receive, as clearly and gently as I can. I need to be honest with you: no one can guarantee who will come through, or when. I never fish for information or pretend, and if a connection doesn't come in the way you hoped, I'll tell you plainly. You can read more about how a mediumship reading with me works before you decide.

She puts you totally at ease and answers your questions without you having to ask them.

Talking openly with a psychic medium in South London

Grief in South London is often shared. A whole family may be feeling the same absence in different ways, and each person can book their own private session. Each reading is private and personal, and I never share one person's session with another.

People bring all kinds of things to these sessions:

  • A longing for reassurance that a loved one is at peace.
  • Words left unsaid, or a goodbye that never happened.
  • Guilt about decisions made during an illness or at the end of a life.
  • A sense of a presence at home, or dreams that feel like visits.
  • Questions about how to carry on, now that life looks different.

Not every session is about Spirit. Sometimes what you need most is a psychic reading focused on you: your relationships, your direction and your next steps after a hard season. I'll help you choose which approach fits, and we can talk it through at the free consultation if you're unsure.

Please know that a reading offers comfort, guidance and reflection. It is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, or for bereavement counselling. If your grief feels overwhelming, I'll gently encourage you to reach out to your GP or a bereavement support service as well.

Reiki and soul restoration healing after loss

Grief lives in the body as well as the heart. People describe tight chests, broken sleep and a tiredness that sits deep in their bones. As a certified Reiki Master Practitioner, I offer energy healing for exactly this kind of heaviness, and it can be a gentle space to rest when talking feels like too much.

A healing session is quiet and unhurried. Reiki is traditionally received while you rest fully clothed, and you don't need to talk unless you want to. Reiki is a complementary practice that supports wellbeing. It doesn't replace medical care, and I'll always encourage you to keep your doctor informed about how you're feeling. There's more detail on Reiki and energy healing sessions if you'd like to understand what happens.

Michelle provided a safe, reassuring session that enabled me to address issues that are preventing me from reaching my full potential.

Not every South London client comes for mediumship. A general psychic reading in London can look at relationships, work, direction and confidence, and you can book one in person or on Zoom.

What a sitting with me feels like

People are often nervous before a mediumship reading, especially if they've never had one. Some worry they'll cry, or that they'll be disappointed. Both feelings are welcome. We begin slowly, with a few minutes to settle, and I explain how I work before anything else happens.

When information comes through, I describe it as I receive it: impressions of personality, memories, feelings or small details that may mean something to you. I'll check in with you as we go, and you only need to say whether something makes sense. You never have to share more than you want to.

If you'd like to understand the background first, I've written about what mediumship is and how it differs from a psychic reading. Knowing what to expect often makes the sitting itself feel calmer.

Staying connected in everyday life

A reading is one moment, but connection with the people we love carries on long after it ends. Some people notice small things after a sitting: a song on the radio, a bird in the garden, a dream that leaves them smiling. I can't tell you what each sign means for you, but I can help you trust your own sense of it.

Some simple practices help. Speak to your loved one out loud when you need to. Keep a photograph somewhere you pass every day. Mark anniversaries in a way that feels right rather than expected. Grief softens in its own time, and staying gently connected is part of that.

Getting to your psychic reading from South London

South London's transport is a patchwork, and most people know their own route by heart. The Victoria line runs through Brixton and Vauxhall, the Northern line serves Clapham Common and Clapham North, the Overground stops at Peckham Rye, the DLR reaches Greenwich and Cutty Sark, and Croydon has its trams and busy mainline stations. In-person session details are confirmed when you book, so you can plan the journey then.

If travelling feels like one thing too many while you're grieving, Zoom is a gentle alternative. Many people find it easier to speak about a loved one from their own sofa, with a photograph beside them and a cup of tea in reach.

Preparing for a mediumship sitting

A little preparation can help you feel steadier on the day. You don't need to bring anything, but some people like to:

  1. Spend a quiet moment beforehand thinking of the person you hope to hear from, without fixing on one specific sign.
  2. Keep a notebook nearby, as details can be easy to forget afterwards.
  3. Plan something kind for yourself after the session, such as a walk through Brockwell Park or Greenwich Park.
  4. Arrive with an open mind about who may come through.

I've written a longer guide on getting ready for your first reading, which covers what to expect, how to frame questions and how to look after yourself afterwards.

Taking the first step

If you're not sure whether you're ready, the free 20-minute Intuitive Clarity Consultation on Zoom is a calm place to start. It isn't a reading. We'll simply talk about where you are and whether mediumship, a personal reading or healing would help most right now.

From the terraces of Dulwich to the high streets of Croydon, South London holds a great deal of love and a great deal of loss. If you're carrying some of both, I'd be honoured to sit with you, listen carefully and help you find a little more peace.

Psychic Readings in South London: FAQs

Can a medium help me connect with someone I've lost?

A mediumship reading is an attempt to connect with loved ones in Spirit and pass on what comes through. For many people it brings comfort and reassurance. However, no one can guarantee who will come through or what they'll say. I'm always honest about what I receive, and I never invent details or fish for information.

How soon after a bereavement should I book a reading?

There's no fixed rule. Some people feel ready within weeks, while others wait months or years. I usually suggest waiting until the first shock has eased a little, so you can take in what comes through. If you're unsure, book the free 20-minute consultation and we can talk about whether now feels right.

Is a mediumship reading the same as grief counselling?

No. A reading can offer comfort, guidance and reflection, but it is not a substitute for bereavement counselling or professional medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. If your grief feels overwhelming or is affecting your health, please speak to your GP or a bereavement support service. A reading can sit alongside that support, never instead of it.

Do you have a premises in Brixton, Clapham or Croydon?

No. The Butterfly Academy is a service-area practice based in London with no public address, and there is no shop or office in any South London neighbourhood. In-person readings take place in London, and the details are confirmed when you book. Zoom readings are always available if you'd prefer to stay at home.

Can Reiki help with grief?

Many people find Reiki a calming, gentle space to rest during grief, and some say they leave feeling lighter. It is a complementary practice that supports wellbeing, but it does not replace medical care. Please keep your GP involved if grief is affecting your sleep, appetite or health. Ask about healing sessions at the free consultation.

Can family members book readings after the same loss?

Yes. Relatives or close friends can each book their own session after the same bereavement. Each reading is private, and I don't share one person's session with another. Some families prefer to book individually so each person has space for their own feelings and questions, which often makes the experience more personal.

Is a mediumship reading on Zoom as meaningful as in person?

A Zoom reading can be just as meaningful, because the connection doesn't depend on being in the same room. Some actually prefer it, as they feel more relaxed speaking about a loved one at home. A 30-minute Zoom reading costs £75 and a 60-minute reading costs £135.

Do I need to be a certain age to have a reading?

Yes, readings are for adults aged 18 and over. If a younger family member is grieving, please look for support designed for children and young people, such as through their school or GP. Adults of any age are welcome, and Zoom can be easier for anyone who finds travelling tiring.

What if no one comes through in my reading?

It can happen, and I'll always tell you honestly if a clear connection isn't forming. Spirit can't be summoned on demand, and no medium can guarantee who will come through. In that case, I may shift the session towards a personal reading focused on you, so you still leave with guidance and support.
