Reiki in London with me is a quiet, gentle space to rest and rebalance. I’m Michelle Virtue, a certified Reiki Master Practitioner and Psychic Medium, and energy healing runs through much of my work. It’s part of my 60-minute and in-person readings, and I also offer dedicated healing sessions for people who’d like to focus entirely on restoring their energy.
Healing became deeply personal for me when an unexpected health challenge turned into a catalyst for healing, rebirth and a return to my soul purpose. That experience shapes how I hold the space for others: patiently, without pressure, and with real respect for whatever you’re carrying when you arrive.
What Reiki is, in plain terms
Reiki is a Japanese form of energy healing developed by Mikao Usui in the early twentieth century. The word is often translated as "universal life energy". In a session, the practitioner places their hands lightly on or just above the body, working through a series of positions, with the intention of supporting relaxation and the body’s natural sense of balance.
It’s gentle and non-invasive. There’s no massage or manipulation, and you stay fully clothed throughout. Many people simply describe it as deeply restful. I’ve written a longer introduction in my article on the origins and practice of Reiki if you’d like the fuller background.
In my own practice, Reiki sits alongside my intuitive work, which is why some people think of what I offer as spiritual healing as much as Reiki. As I give healing, I’m also aware of where your energy feels heavy, blocked or depleted, which helps me focus the session where it seems most needed.
What a session of Reiki in London with me feels like
Every session begins with a short conversation. I’ll ask how you’re feeling and whether there’s anything you’d like the healing to support, such as stress, emotional heaviness, a period of change or simply wanting to feel more like yourself. You can share as much or as little as you wish.
Then you lie or sit comfortably, close your eyes and let yourself be still. You don’t need to do anything or believe anything in particular. Experiences vary from person to person and from session to session, but people often mention:
- A feeling of warmth, coolness or gentle tingling
- Deep relaxation, sometimes close to sleep
- A sense of heaviness lifting, or of feeling lighter
- Emotions rising and passing, sometimes with tears
- Very little at all during the session, with calm arriving later
All of these are normal, and none of them is a sign that the healing is or isn’t "working". At the end, I’ll bring you gently back, give you a moment to come round and talk through anything I noticed, if that feels useful to you.
Who Reiki and energy healing can support
People come to energy healing for all sorts of reasons, and you don’t need a particular problem to book. Healing can be a helpful space if you are:
- Running on empty. Long hours, caring responsibilities or a demanding role can leave you feeling depleted, even when you’re sleeping.
- Carrying emotional heaviness. After a loss, a break-up or a difficult year, healing offers a quiet place to let some of that weight settle.
- Moving through change. A new chapter at work or at home can stir up uncertainty, and many people find it easier to think clearly once they feel calmer.
- Feeling disconnected from yourself. If you’ve lost touch with what you want or who you are, healing can be a gentle way to reconnect.
- Curious about energy work. Some people simply want to experience Reiki for themselves, with no particular expectation, and that’s a perfectly good reason too.
Living and working in a city like London can make real rest hard to come by. Even an hour of stillness, with your phone switched off and nothing asked of you, can feel like a rare thing. For many people, the simple act of lying down and being looked after is part of what helps.
Healing isn’t the right choice for everyone at every moment. If you’re in crisis or dealing with a serious health concern, please seek medical or professional support first. I’m always happy to talk honestly about whether a session makes sense for you right now.
Soul restoration healing
Some people come to me for healing at a point when they feel worn down or disconnected from themselves, and want more than rest. One client described her session as soul restoration healing, and the name captures the intention well: a safe space to release what’s weighing on you and reconnect with a steadier, truer sense of who you are.
Michelle provided a safe, reassuring session that enabled me to address issues that are preventing me from reaching my full potential.

These sessions draw on Reiki and on my wider intuitive work. Because every person arrives with something different, I shape each one around you, and we’ll talk about what you’d like from it before we begin. For some people, a healing session becomes part of a longer process of change, and it can sit well alongside ongoing intuitive coaching.
In-person and distance Reiki healing
In-person healing in London
In-person sessions take place in London. Many people value receiving healing in person, with an hour set aside away from the noise of the day. If you’re coming from Brixton, Clapham, Greenwich or elsewhere in Reiki and mediumship for South London clients, it’s a manageable trip, and it’s worth allowing a little extra time on your way home so you don’t rush straight from a peaceful session onto a busy platform.
Distance healing
Distance healing, sometimes called distance Reiki, is a long-standing part of the Reiki tradition. The practitioner works with intention rather than touch, while the person receiving rests somewhere comfortable at an agreed time. In my experience, many people feel the effects in a similar way to an in-person session, though I can’t offer that as proof, and I’d encourage you to notice your own response.
Distance healing can suit you if you live outside London, find travel tiring, or simply prefer to rest in your own space afterwards. If you’re unsure which is right, we can talk it through in a free consultation.
To prepare for distance healing, choose a quiet room where you won’t be disturbed, switch your phone to silent and lie down or sit comfortably with a blanket nearby. Try to leave some unhurried time afterwards rather than going straight back to your inbox, and have a glass of water ready for when you get up.
Aftercare: looking after yourself following energy healing
How you treat yourself in the hours after a session can help the benefits settle. Here are some simple suggestions:
- Drink plenty of water. It’s a simple way to support your body as you come back into your day.
- Keep the rest of the day gentle. Avoid booking a demanding meeting or a big night out straight afterwards if you can.
- Rest if you feel tired. Some people feel energised after healing; others feel ready for an early night. Both are fine.
- Notice your emotions. Feelings can surface in the day or two after a session. Let them move through without judging them.
- Write a few notes. Jot down anything you felt, saw or understood during the session, as these impressions can fade quickly.
- Spend a little time outdoors. A slow walk in a park or by the river can help you feel grounded.
If anything from the session stays with you or you have questions afterwards, you’re welcome to get in touch.
Reiki is complementary, not a medical treatment
I want to be very clear about this. Reiki and energy healing are complementary practices. They can support relaxation and a sense of wellbeing, but they do not diagnose, treat or cure any medical or psychological condition, and they don’t replace medical care.
Please keep seeing your GP or healthcare team for any health concerns, and never stop or change prescribed treatment because of a healing session. Like my readings, healing offers guidance and reflection; it is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. Many people choose Reiki alongside conventional care, and that’s how I’d encourage you to think of it.
If you have a health condition and you’re unsure whether healing is right for you now, it’s always sensible to speak to your doctor first.
Reiki and energy healing across London
Healing sessions are arranged through the free Clarity Consultation or the contact page, so we can agree the right format before you book. Clients in North London often look for something restorative during a busy family week, or want healing alongside developing their own intuition, and the page on healing and development for North London clients touches on both.
Energy healing is also part of my longer readings. A 60-minute or in-person reading includes time for energetic realignment alongside the guidance, which suits people who want clarity and a sense of calm in the same appointment. You can compare the formats on the page about 1:1 psychic readings in London.
How to book Reiki and energy healing sessions
Energy healing is already included in my 60-minute readings and in my in-person readings, so if you’d like a blend of intuitive guidance and healing, you can book one of those directly.
Dedicated healing sessions, including soul restoration healing, don’t have a public price, because each one is shaped around the person. The easiest first step is to book a free 20-minute Intuitive Clarity Consultation on Zoom. It’s a relaxed conversation about where you are and what kind of support would help, and it gives you a chance to ask anything about healing before you commit.
If you’d rather write to me, you can use the contact page, or call 07482 343459 between 9am and 5pm, seven days a week.
