From Colchester, a psychic medium sitting works most naturally on Zoom from your own home. Coming to me in person is a longer outing into London, with Greater Anglia services taking around 50 minutes to Liverpool Street and the meeting place shared privately after you book.
My name is Michelle Virtue. As a professionally trained Psychic Medium, Spiritual Coach and Intuitive Teacher, I only see people face to face in London, around 52 miles from Colchester. A video sitting from your own sofa in Lexden, Stanway or Wivenhoe is the same careful reading, without a day spent on the train.
I've written this page for people in and around Colchester who are grieving, curious or facing a hard decision, and with a particular thought for the families who arrive here because of a posting to the garrison and may be gone again in a few years.
Mediumship in Colchester, from your own front room
Colchester keeps its past in plain sight. The Roman wall still runs round the old town, and the Norman castle keep stands on the base of the Roman temple, in a town that called itself Camulodunum long before it was Colchester. Living among that much history can make people wonder about the ones who came before them, and about their own family who have passed.
A mediumship sitting with me is a calm, respectful attempt to reach someone in Spirit and pass on what I receive. I put what comes through into ordinary words, then pause so you can tell me if it means something. I'm always straightforward about this: no one can guarantee who will come through, or what they will choose to share. Sometimes it is the person you hoped for. Sometimes it is a grandparent you hardly knew, with something gentle to say.
Distance makes no difference to this work. I'm tuning into you and to Spirit, not to the room. What helps is a quiet space, a door you can close and a few minutes afterwards before anyone needs you. If the loss is very recent, it is often kinder to wait a little before booking.
For service families at Colchester Garrison
Army life asks a great deal of the people around the soldier. You move house every few years, you start again with schools and friendships, and you may be the one holding everything together while a partner is away. Losing a parent while you live far from the rest of your family can feel especially lonely, because the people who knew them best are a long drive away.
A reading can give you somewhere to set that down for an hour. We might talk about a relationship under strain from long separations, a decision about whether to stay in Colchester or move on with the next posting, your own work that keeps getting interrupted, or simply the heaviness of not knowing what comes next. I'll share what I pick up through psychic insight and oracle cards, and we'll finish with a few practical steps you can take this week.
Because I work on Zoom, the sessions don't have to stop when the removal lorry arrives. If the next posting is elsewhere in the UK or overseas, the calendar can show slots in local time wherever you land, so you carry on with someone who already knows your story.
She puts you totally at ease and answers your questions without you having to ask them.

Students and university staff
The University of Essex sits in parkland at Wivenhoe Park, on the edge of Colchester, and a campus like that always has people who would rather understand their intuition than only be read for. If you have felt things about people and places for as long as you can remember, my structured psychic development training may suit you better than a one-off reading.
There are three levels, taught live with a small group, and each level can also be taught to you alone. Along the way you learn to rely on your inner sense, to sort a genuine impression from an anxious thought, and strengthening your connection to Spirit, with mediumship coming once the foundations are steady. I keep the space safe and nurturing, and I'm firm about grounding. Students must be 18 or over. Because term dates and group times shift, I'd rather tell you what is running now, and the date a new group starts, when we speak at the free consultation. That way nothing you plan around is out of date.
What does a trip from Colchester to a London reading involve?
Realistically it takes half a day. The train from Colchester's main station is the long part; the onward trip from Liverpool Street is short. There is no public address. You receive the meeting details once you've booked, and everything I've described above applies to sessions in London just the same.
In person, a 30-minute reading is £100 and an hour is £160. Allow for getting to the station, the train and the return. From Wivenhoe there is a short hop up the line first, and from West Mersea, which has no railway, the drive or bus into town adds to the day. People who make the trip often say the ride home along the Essex line, watching the fields go past, is a good time to let it all sink in. If a posting, a shift pattern or a young family makes a day away impossible, stay with Zoom: the sitting is the same, and it can follow you if you move on from the garrison.
This was my first experience having any form of psychic reading… as soon as I arrived I was put at ease.

A first step, at your own pace
For most people on this side of Essex, I'd suggest a reading over Zoom as the natural place to begin. You choose a time, the link arrives by email, and if the day falls apart there is a reschedule option in the email that confirms your booking. From West Mersea, where the causeway to the island can flood at the highest tides, that flexibility matters.
If you aren't sure what you need, start with the free Intuitive Clarity Consultation. That's a free twenty-minute call, with no reading involved. We talk about what has been happening for you and I suggest what would help, from a single sitting to longer coaching or the courses. My page for the whole of Essex has more on travel from other parts of the county.
One gentle note before you book. Readings, coaching and mediumship are a source of guidance and comfort. They are not a substitute for medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, so if you are struggling with grief or your health, please keep talking to your GP or the welfare support around you. All clients need to be 18 or over.
