Oxford sits about 51 miles from central London, so intuitive coaching and psychic readings from the city almost always happen on Zoom. Sessions in person take place in London only: GWR reaches Paddington in roughly an hour, and I email the meeting point after your booking is confirmed.
Oxford runs on evidence. Ideas get tested in tutorials, argued over in seminars and written up with footnotes, and in that atmosphere intuition is something people mention quietly, if they mention it at all. Yet ask a careful scientist or historian how their best idea began and you will often hear about a hunch they couldn't justify at first. If you are in Oxford and curious about a reading, intuitive coaching or Reiki, I want to offer you something grounded, clear and free of theatre.
I'm Michelle Virtue, a professionally trained Psychic Medium, Spiritual Coach and Intuitive Teacher. Oxford lies on the very rim of the area this site covers, and there are no rooms or groups of mine in the city.
Intuition in a city of evidence
I don't ask anyone to abandon their critical thinking. In fact, I find sceptical, analytical people often make the most interesting clients, because they notice precisely what lands and what doesn't. What I offer is a structured space to pay attention to a kind of knowing that usually gets dismissed: the gut sense about a collaborator, the unease that won't go away about a job offer, the pull towards something that makes no sense on paper.
A session with me combines psychic insight, oracle cards and attention to your energy with ordinary conversation. You can treat it as information to weigh, alongside everything else you know, rather than as a verdict.
If you like data, try keeping a simple hunch log for a month before we meet. Each time you have a strong first impression about a person, a decision or a piece of news, write it down with the date, then come back later and note what actually happened. Most people find their hit rate is better than they assumed in some areas and worse in others. That pattern is a very useful starting point, because it shows where your intuition is already reliable and where anxiety tends to dress itself up as insight.
Intuitive coaching for researchers and spin-out founders
Academic life in Oxford has pressures that outsiders rarely see. Fixed-term contracts, the long wait on a grant, the question of whether to stay in research or leave, the strain of college and department politics. Oxford is also known for turning research into companies, and a scientist who becomes a founder overnight is suddenly making decisions about investors, hiring and risk that no doctorate prepared them for.
Ongoing intuitive coaching is my way of supporting people for exactly those crossroads. Session by session, on Zoom, the ground we cover can include:
- whether a move from academia into industry, or the other way round, feels right beyond the salary
- how to lead a small team when you were trained to work alone
- which advice to trust when everyone around you has a strong opinion
- how to keep your own sense of purpose while the company grows
I especially enjoy working with women in science and business, and anyone who wants calmer, more confident decisions is welcome. The coaching supports your judgement. It is not legal, financial or investment advice, and you remain fully in charge. If you'd like the reasoning first, my article on using intuition in decisions sets it out for the sceptical reader.
Reiki in London for people who live in their heads
Reiki seems to draw a good deal of interest in Oxford, perhaps because so many people here live in their heads for most of the day. If you spend long hours in a library, a lab or in front of a screen in Jericho or Summertown, a session focused on the body and on rest can feel like a different language altogether.
I'm a Certified Reiki Master Practitioner, and my hands-on Reiki and energy healing takes place in London. From Oxford that means a return train journey, so it tends to suit people who are already in London for work or who want to make a day of it. If you would like to understand the practice before deciding, my article on what Reiki is and how it feels sets it out plainly. Reiki works as a complement to healthcare, so please see it as an addition to medical treatment and not an alternative. Please keep up any treatment or advice from your GP.
Learning to trust your intuition: development courses from Oxford
Some people in Oxford are drawn to study this properly, which makes sense in a city that respects learning. The psychic development courses I teach have three structured levels, run live for groups, and you can also study any one of them alone with me. The training builds intuition, discernment and connection to Spirit, with mediumship available to students who feel drawn to it.
Discernment is the part analytical minds tend to value most. A large part of the training is learning to tell genuine intuitive information apart from wishful thinking, worry or a story you are telling yourself. The current syllabus and the date of the next intake are covered in our free conversation.
Michelle is a wonderful and powerful teacher. She creates an encouraging and beautiful environment to follow your intuition and lean into this path.

Should I choose Zoom or a London session from Oxford?
For coaching and most readings, Zoom; London makes sense for Reiki, or when you are already in town. Here is how the two formats compare if you live in Oxford.
| Zoom from home in Oxford | In person in London | |
|---|---|---|
| Travel | No travel at all | About an hour each way, by GWR to Paddington or Chiltern to Marylebone, or longer by coach along the M40 |
| Price | £75 for 30 minutes, £135 for 60 | £100 for 30 minutes, £160 for 60 |
| Suits | Coaching, readings, mediumship, the free consultation | Reiki, a first reading for those who want to meet, a special occasion |
| Flexibility | Easy to fit around teaching, lab work or lectures | Best planned around a day already in London |
Coaches along the M40 are cheaper but depend on traffic, so the train is the steadier choice for a fixed appointment time. Academics can often fit a London session around a day already spent at a meeting or a library in town. Trains can be delayed, and if that happens on your way in, just let me know. I would rather adjust than have you arrive anxious.
I was late getting to my appointment yet she gave me time to get to her and did not rush through the reading.

Whichever you choose, begin with the free Intuitive Clarity Consultation, a 20-minute Zoom call that comes before any reading. My work offers guidance and reflection and is not a substitute for medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, and I work only with people aged 18 or over.
