If you live in Newbury, Thatcham or Hungerford, a psychic reading with me will almost always be on Zoom from home, which is the realistic choice at this distance. Meeting in person means a GWR train to Paddington, and the meeting place is confirmed when you book.
Greenham Common spent much of the last century behind wire as an airbase, became famous for the women's peace camp at its gates, and is now open heath again, with grazing animals and skylarks over the old runway. Few places show so plainly that a landscape, or a life, can be turned around. If you live in Newbury, Thatcham, Hungerford or one of the villages along the Kennet and you are considering a psychic reading, some coaching or a mediumship sitting, here is how working together actually looks from West Berkshire. I'm Michelle Virtue, a professionally trained Psychic Medium, Spiritual Coach and Intuitive Teacher.
Fifty-two miles out: why Zoom suits Newbury best
Newbury is about 52 miles from central London, which puts it right on the edge of the area I describe on this site. GWR trains to Paddington take about 50 to 60 minutes from Newbury and longer from Hungerford or Kintbury, and then there is the station car park at one end and the crossing of London at the other. A one-hour reading in person can easily cost you a whole day. I would rather be honest about that than pretend otherwise.
So for nearly everyone in the district, my psychic readings on Zoom are the sensible choice. You stay at home, in a room where you feel safe, and the session is every bit as detailed as one across a table: psychic impressions, a spread of oracle cards where a question needs it, and a reading of your energy, all explained in ordinary language with time at the end for anything you still want to ask. The calendar runs 9am to 5pm every day, which helps if your weekdays are spent on the M4 or out on the land.
A London appointment is still there if you want one, perhaps tied to a day already planned in town. The meeting details arrive once you have booked. I hold nothing in Newbury itself, and there is no local address to look for.
Coaching for owner-run firms and tech staff
West Berkshire has a lot of working life tucked into it: telecoms and technology employers, consultancies on the business parks, and plenty of owner-run firms operating from converted barns and spare bedrooms between Thatcham and Lambourn. That mix produces a particular kind of pressure. You may be the most senior person in the room all day and still have nobody to think aloud with at night.
Filling that space is what my intuitive coaching for founders and professionals is for. I spent a long stretch in leadership, in banking and then in social care, before this work, and I coach with that grounding: realistic, commercially aware, alert to how decisions affect people. The intuitive part brings in what you already sense and have been overruling. We might look at whether to grow the business or protect your evenings, whether a partnership has run its course, or why a role that looks perfect on paper leaves you flat every Sunday night.
Coaching on Zoom also removes the one thing busy people in this district rarely have spare, which is travel time. A session can sit in the gap between a school drop-off in Thatcham and a ten o'clock call, with no motorway involved.
For anyone who wants more than occasional sessions, the Butterfly Transformation Packages run over a longer period and bring energy work and a bespoke plan in beside the coaching. All of them open with a Clarity Session.
Michelle is amazing, and so in tune with her guides. My reading was incredibly accurate and gave me much clarity.

Mediumship for rural households and quiet grief
South of the town the chalk rises towards Watership Down, the hill that Richard Adams made famous, and the farms and hamlets out there are quiet in a way that can make grief louder. When someone dies in a rural household, they often leave a gap in the work as well as the family: the person who did the lambing, kept the books or knew every hedge. Friends may be a drive away, and the nearest person who understands may be nobody at all.
A mediumship sitting by video lets you reach out from your own kitchen. I link with Spirit and put into words the impressions that arrive, which can be appearance, personality, memories or a message, and I check with you what makes sense. I am clear about one thing from the outset: no one can guarantee who will come through, and I will not invent detail to fill a silence. A sitting can bring real comfort, and it works best alongside the ordinary support of family, friends and, where it helps, a bereavement counsellor.
Reiki in London and a slower canal pace
The Kennet and Avon Canal runs through Newbury and past Thatcham on its long way west to Bath, and a narrowboat travels it at roughly walking speed. Most people I speak to would benefit from a little more of that pace. Race days at Newbury racecourse, harvest weeks, quarter ends: life here often comes in surges, with not enough recovery between them.
I hold certification as a Reiki Master Practitioner, and my healing sessions are for that recovery: a calm, clothed session that many people find restful when stress, low energy or emotional weight have built up. I give these in London, face to face, and never over video. Reiki sits beside medicine without replacing it, so a doctor should still hear about any symptom or worry that is troubling you. The same applies to readings and coaching, which are guidance, not a substitute for medical, psychological, legal or financial advice.
What should I do before a first session from Newbury?
If you are not sure which of these you need, book the free Intuitive Clarity Consultation. We talk for twenty minutes over video, no cards and no reading, and by the end we will both know whether a reading, coaching, healing or one of my development courses fits what is happening for you. Everyone I work with must be 18 or over.
If you do come into London, a mid-morning train from Newbury misses the commuter peak. Hungerford and Kintbury have fewer trains, so check the return times before you choose a slot, and keep Zoom in mind for harvest weeks or race days, when getting away is hardest.
Before any session, a short walk helps: along the towpath from Newbury Lock, up to the gatehouse of Donnington Castle, or across Greenham Common itself. Arriving a little quieter makes it easier to hear what comes up. Jot down two or three things you would most like clarity on, and then hold them loosely; the reading may answer the question underneath them instead. For the rest of the county, from Reading to Windsor, take a look at the Berkshire guide.
I am normally resistant to give 5 star ratings, but I have truly been moved by Michelle's guidance.
