Walthamstow is one of the easiest places in London to come from for a psychic reading in person: the Victoria line runs from Walthamstow Central into the centre without a change, and I confirm the meeting details privately once you have booked. Zoom from home works just as well if you would rather stay put.
Elsewhere in the borough, Leytonstone and Leyton have the Central line, and Chingford has its own trains into Liverpool Street. Zoom, of course, needs no trip at all, which is handy on a wet evening when the North Circular is jammed.
I'm Michelle Virtue, a professionally trained Psychic Medium, Spiritual Coach and Intuitive Teacher. In Walthamstow and across Waltham Forest, much of what I offer leans towards learning as well as being read for: developing your own intuition, trying Reiki, or gathering friends for an evening of readings. There is no public address, and nothing runs in the borough itself.
Psychic development courses for creative people
Walthamstow has drawn artists and makers for a long time. William Morris grew up here, and the gallery in his old family home by Lloyd Park is still a local landmark. Today the designers, illustrators and makers around Walthamstow Village keep that streak alive.
Creative people often take to psychic development quickly, because it uses a muscle they already exercise: noticing what isn't obvious, trusting a first impression, letting something arrive before you analyse it. What's usually missing is structure, and that is what a course provides.
My psychic development courses are organised in three levels, taught live to a group, and if a group isn't your thing you can study the same ground with me privately. Across the levels you strengthen your intuition and psychic ability, deepen your link with Spirit, learn discernment and widen into mediumship, and the atmosphere stays safe and nurturing throughout. Past students talk about practical weekly work with source energy and their own guides, and the academy has run a Psychic Circle.
Beginners spend a lot of time on the basics that make everything else possible: grounding, opening up with intention, closing down properly afterwards and learning to tell a genuine impression from a passing thought. Those habits matter when you step back out onto Hoe Street after an evening of practice and need to feel like yourself again.
Group learning suits people who like company. You practise on each other, compare impressions and grow in confidence together. I don't publish start dates here. Ask during the free consultation and I'll tell you how the syllabus looks right now and when a group is next likely to begin.
I am normally resistant to give 5 star ratings, but I have truly been moved by Michelle's guidance.

Reiki in London, and the calm of forest and water
Chingford sits right on the edge of Epping Forest, and the Walthamstow Wetlands have opened up the working reservoirs along the River Lea to walkers and birdwatchers. Anyone who spends time in places like these already knows the feeling of their energy settling after an hour among trees or water. Reiki works with that same sense of calm, in a more focused way.
I'm a certified Reiki Master Practitioner. In a Reiki and energy healing session I work with your energy to help release tension you may have been holding for months, so you leave lighter and more balanced. Many people book healing after a stressful period at work, a break-up or simply a long winter. I give sessions in person in London by appointment, never on Zoom, and from Chingford the train into Liverpool Street makes that an easy trip.
Reiki and development also feed each other. Students who are opening up psychically often find healing helps them stay grounded, and people who come for healing sometimes notice their own sensitivity waking up afterwards. If that happens, we can talk about where to take it next.
Reiki is a complementary therapy. It sits alongside medical care rather than replacing it, so keep following whatever your GP or consultant has advised. Healing sessions don't have a public price list; we talk about what would suit you during the free consultation.
I felt this energy of comfort and ease… positive guidance and insightful messages.

Hosting a psychic evening for friends in Waltham Forest
Some of my favourite work happens when a group of friends decide to try something together. Any private event or psychic party takes place wherever you decide, which means a birthday in a Leytonstone terrace or a get-together in a Walthamstow house is something we can talk through. It's a gentle way in for people who would feel shy booking a reading alone, and it gives a group of friends something to talk about long after the cake has gone.
These gatherings are custom-made: intuitive circles and guided experiences built around the occasion, from a milestone birthday to a quiet evening of reflection. Tell me roughly how many people are coming, what kind of atmosphere you want and whether anyone is nervous, and I'll suggest a format. Everyone taking part needs to be 18 or over.
On the practical side, a spare room or a corner away from the kitchen and the music makes a big difference, because people relax more when they can speak privately. Guests who are sceptical are welcome. Often they are the ones still talking about it the next morning, usually because something small and specific landed.
Is in person or Zoom better from Walthamstow or Chingford?
In person suits most of the borough, because the Victoria and Central lines are quick, while Zoom is often simpler from Chingford or on a day you want to stay close to home. From Chingford the train runs into Liverpool Street rather than the Tube, so check the onward leg before you choose a time.
A few practical habits help. Book after the morning peak if you are travelling on the Victoria line, which is packed into town before nine. If you are coming for Reiki, leave the rest of the afternoon free rather than heading straight back to work; a walk in Lloyd Park or around the Wetlands afterwards lets the session settle. A group evening is held at a venue you choose, so nobody needs to travel into town for that. And if illness, caring or a long week rules out the trip, Zoom from your sofa in Leyton or the Village is the same reading.
One-to-one readings on the Central line
If what you need is an answer rather than a course, a 1:1 psychic reading is still at the core of my work. Oracle cards, psychic impressions and the energy I sense around you all feed in as we look at relationships, direction, confidence and the blocks that keep you circling. From Leytonstone or Leyton the Central line is direct into the City and the West End, which makes a London appointment straightforward.
Plenty of people in Leyton and Leytonstone keep their reading to themselves until they've had time to think about it, and that's fine. You can book a Zoom session for a quiet morning at home, take notes as we go, and decide afterwards what, if anything, you want to share with friends or family.
Prices are simple. On Zoom, 30 minutes costs £75 and 60 minutes £135; in person in London it's £100 and £160. Think of a reading as guidance to reflect on. It is not a substitute for medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, and for those questions I'll always point you towards the right professional.
For the boroughs that border yours, including Hackney and Newham, my wider East London page pulls everything together.
