Peckham, Dulwich and the rest of Southwark are well placed for a psychic reading: Peckham Rye, London Bridge and Elephant & Castle put my London sessions within an easy hop, with the meeting details shared privately once you've booked. If you'd rather not travel at all, Zoom from home works just as well.
I'm Michelle Virtue, a professionally trained Psychic Medium, Spiritual Coach and Intuitive Teacher and a certified Reiki Master Practitioner, and I'd like this page to tell you plainly what working with me could look like from SE15, SE22 or SE1.
There's no shopfront or public address for The Butterfly Academy of Psychics. If you're not sure what you need yet, the free Intuitive Clarity Consultation is a good first step. We spend 20 minutes together on Zoom, and rather than reading for you, I listen to what's happening in your life and suggest which reading, course or healing session would make sense for you right now.
Oracle cards for Peckham and Camberwell's makers
Peckham has become one of the places London's artists live and work, from the converted spaces off Rye Lane to the people who graduated from Camberwell College of Arts and never left. Plenty of people in this corner of the borough think in images rather than spreadsheets. For them, cards are often the easiest way in, and my short guide to how oracle decks work explains the basics.
In an oracle card session, the cards give us a visual starting point. I read the imagery alongside what I'm sensing intuitively, and you'll often recognise something before I've finished describing it. Creative people bring questions like these:
- Is this commission or residency the right one, or am I saying yes out of fear
- Why do I keep stalling on the work that matters most to me
- Should I stay in Peckham as rents shift, or is it time to go
- How do I separate my own taste from what the market wants
Cards don't decide for you. They help you see your situation from a step back, which is often exactly what's needed after months of being too close to it. For people who spend their days making things, that distance can be the hardest thing to find on their own.
Michelle is amazing, and so in tune with her guides. My reading was incredibly accurate and gave me much clarity.

Parents and a quieter hour of Reiki
Dulwich has a different pace. Dulwich Park and the woods, the village with its old gallery, school runs along tree-lined roads: from outside it looks calm. Inside a family home, it can be anything but. Parents here, often mothers, can spend every hour attending to someone else and struggle to remember the last time anyone attended to them.
That's where Reiki and energy healing can help. A session is gentle and restful. I work with your energy to ease tension and help you feel more settled in yourself, and many people describe leaving lighter. Sessions are face to face in London, a short trip from Dulwich, and never over Zoom. I'm careful to say that Reiki is complementary. It can support how you feel, yet it does not replace medical care, and your GP or specialist should stay your first port of call for anything health-related.
Some Dulwich parents combine the two, starting with a reading for clarity and following up with healing when life has been heavy. We can talk through which order makes sense in your consultation.
Small business owners and decisions made alone
Head north towards London Bridge and the borough changes again. Borough Market, the railway arches of Bermondsey, the streets around Elephant & Castle: these are full of people running their own thing. Food traders, independent makers, small agencies, people who started with one stall and now have staff.
Running a small business means making decisions constantly, usually alone. My readings and coaching give owners a place to say the quiet part out loud: the partner they're not sure about, the second site they can't afford to get wrong, the burnout they keep pushing past. Leadership posts in social care and banking are part of my own background, so a conversation about margins or staffing problems doesn't throw me. Readings are a space for reflection and intuitive guidance. They're not a substitute for professional financial, legal, medical or psychological advice, and I'll always encourage you to take that advice where it applies.
If you'd find an ongoing rhythm useful, we can move from occasional readings to regular sessions. My page on readings across London sets out the formats and lengths.
How does a first session work if I live in Peckham?
It takes five simple steps, and Southwark's transport makes the in-person option straightforward. Weekday late mornings are the calmest time to pass through London Bridge. The Overground stops at Peckham Rye and Queens Road Peckham, the Northern and Jubilee lines meet at London Bridge, and Elephant & Castle has the Bakerloo and Northern lines. Here's what to expect step by step:
- Book a free consultation if you're unsure, or go straight to a reading through the online calendar.
- Choose Zoom or in person. A 30-minute reading is £75 on Zoom or £100 in person; 60 minutes is £135 or £160.
- If you've chosen to meet in person, I send the London meeting details privately before the day.
- Bring your questions, or nothing at all. We begin with a few quiet minutes, then I share what comes through.
- Afterwards you can reschedule, book again or simply sit with what we discussed. There's no pressure.
All clients must be 18 or over. If you'd like a sense of the wider area, my guide to South London covers the neighbouring boroughs.
Michelle identified behaviours and patterns holding me back with astonishing accuracy and provided helpful advice to overcome these.

When a reading turns into wanting to learn
Sometimes a reading leaves someone in Camberwell or Nunhead realising they've always felt things they couldn't explain. If that's you, psychic development may be the next step. My structured courses run over three levels as live group training, and the same teaching is available privately one-to-one. We focus on trusting your intuition, building discernment and staying grounded while you open up.
It suits the creative temperament of this borough well, because it asks you to notice what you already sense and take it seriously. Artists already practise a kind of attention that most people never develop, and in my experience that attention transfers surprisingly well to intuitive work. Parents from Dulwich often find the same with the instinct they've built for their children. I'll share the current syllabus and when the next group starts during your free consultation.
