If you live in Epping or Loughton, a psychic reading on Zoom asks for little beyond a quiet room at home. Alternatively, ride the Central line into London for a session in person, about 40 to 50 minutes to the centre with no changes. In-person times are booked ahead and the meeting place is emailed once you have a slot.
Under the old pollarded beeches and hornbeams up near High Beach, the noise of the roads fades and you can feel your shoulders drop. Epping Forest does that to people. If you live in Epping, Loughton, Buckhurst Hill, Theydon Bois or Chigwell, you have one of the most grounding places in the South East on your doorstep, and that matters more than you might think for psychic work. I'm Michelle Virtue, a professionally trained Psychic Medium, Spiritual Coach and Intuitive Teacher, and this page looks at how the forest, the Central line and Zoom fit together on this side of London.
Why Epping Forest is good for intuitive work
Every bit of psychic development I teach starts with grounding: getting out of your racing head and back into your body, so that what you sense is clear rather than anxious. Ancient woodland is about the best training ground there is. The forest has been common land and working woodland for centuries, and it's still looked after for the public by the City of London, so you can walk in it freely all year round.
You don't need anything special. A regular walk among the trees, with your phone in your pocket and your attention on your feet, your breath and the light through the branches, is a simple practice that makes intuition easier to hear. I often suggest something similar to students, wherever they live, and if you're on the forest edge you're lucky to have it so close.
It's also why people who already feel at home in nature are often drawn to energy work and to developing their own gifts, which is where the rest of this page comes in.
The forest has its own seasons too, and they mirror the inner work. Bluebells under the beeches in spring, deep shade in summer, bright leaf litter in autumn and bare, quiet branches in winter. Many of the people I teach find that paying attention to those cycles helps them notice their own: times for starting things, times for letting go and times simply to rest.
Reiki and energy healing in London
I'm a certified Reiki Master Practitioner, and alongside readings I offer Reiki and energy healing for people who feel depleted, scattered or stuck. Sessions are face to face in London, and in them I work gently with your energy to help you feel calmer and more balanced. Some people describe warmth or tingling. Others simply feel lighter and quieter in themselves.
Please think of Reiki as complementary. It sits alongside medical care and does not replace it, so keep seeing your GP or specialist for any health concern and mention that you're having Reiki if you'd like to.
Reiki often appeals to people who give a great deal of themselves: parents running busy households in Buckhurst Hill, carers, people in demanding jobs who come home along Loughton High Road with nothing left in the tank. A healing session is time when nobody needs anything from you. Many people combine it with a reading, because once the energy has settled, the questions that matter tend to come into focus. Healing is something we can talk through at the free consultation, including whether an in-person session in London makes sense for you.
Learning intuition and mediumship
The forest suits people who want to learn rather than only receive. My psychic development courses move through three levels of live training in a group, covering intuition, psychic perception, your bond with Spirit, discernment and, later on, mediumship. If you'd rather not learn in a group, any level can be taught privately.
I should be clear about one thing: I don't run a circle or class in Epping, Loughton or anywhere nearby. Group training is arranged centrally, and private lessons can happen on Zoom. When we talk at the free consultation, I'll explain how the groups currently run and when the next one begins.
Joining her Psychic Circle was a great investment in my own spirituality.

Students often tell me the practice they do between sessions is what changes things. For someone near the forest, that might be a morning walk before a meditation, or simply sitting under a tree for ten minutes and noticing what comes up.
Central line from Epping, Theydon Bois and Loughton
Epping is the far end of the Central line, so there's always a seat. Theydon Bois, Debden, Loughton and Buckhurst Hill are on the same branch, and Chigwell has its own Central line station on the Hainault loop. From any of them, central London takes about 40 to 50 minutes, with no changes. Face-to-face appointments are always in London, and the exact meeting place is emailed to you as part of your booking.
Face to face suits people who want to sit across from me, or who find a screen distracting. You can read how a session unfolds on the page about sitting with me in London. The Central line ride home can be a lovely time to reflect, watching the city thin out until you're back among the trees.
She puts you totally at ease and answers your questions without you having to ask them.

Can I have a session from Epping or Chigwell without travelling?
Yes, on Zoom from home; nothing about a reading, a coaching call or private tuition depends on being in the same room. That matters for carers, parents on the school run in Buckhurst Hill and anyone in Chigwell, where the Hainault loop makes the ride into town a little longer than from the main branch.
For a session at home, pick the quietest room in the house, shut the door and put headphones on if anyone else is about. Many people like to walk beforehand: twenty minutes under the trees near Loughton Camp or around Connaught Water is a good way to arrive settled. Jot down whatever strikes you while it is fresh. If the week falls apart, shift the appointment through your confirmation email and come back to it when there is space.
Gatherings in your own home
Many households around the forest like to entertain at home, and a psychic evening can be a thoughtful centrepiece for a birthday, a get-together of close friends or a celebration. My private events take place wherever you decide to host, so a house in Chigwell, a garden in Buckhurst Hill or a room you've booked in Loughton can all be discussed. Each evening is planned with you, and every guest must be 18 or over.
Some hosts like the idea of everyone sitting together in a guided circle and trying a few simple intuitive exercises. Others prefer a relaxed evening where guests have time with me one by one. We agree it all beforehand, including how many people can realistically be seen, so the night feels generous rather than rushed. I don't hold public events in the area, so these happen only when someone invites me to a gathering they're hosting.
Whatever you book, a reading, healing or tuition is guidance and support. It's not a substitute for medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. To see how the rest of the county connects to London, take a look at the wider Essex page.
