A psychic reading from Hertford or Ware is easy to arrange, and the simplest way is Zoom from your sitting room. For a face-to-face session you would travel into London: the quickest trains from Hertford North reach King's Cross in about 45 minutes, and you receive the meeting place privately once booked.
Hertford is a town where rivers meet. The Lea, the Beane, the Mimram and the Rib all come together around the county town, and a little downstream the Lea runs past the old riverside gazebos at Ware. It is a fitting picture for the kind of psychic reading this page is about: something unhurried, where the threads of a family's story can be gathered up and looked at together. I'm Michelle Virtue, a professionally trained Psychic Medium, Spiritual Coach and Intuitive Teacher.
I don't give readings in Hertford or Ware themselves, and every reading, mediumship included, works just as well on a screen.
Mediumship readings for Hertford families
Families in Hertford and the villages around it often stay close across generations. Grandparents live round the corner, children go to the same schools their parents did, and when someone passes the loss is felt by a whole network of people at once. That is often when a mediumship reading is sought, sometimes by one person and sometimes on behalf of a sister, a mother or a grown-up child who could not face booking it themselves.
During a mediumship reading I attune to Spirit and pass on whatever arrives: perhaps a description, a characteristic phrase, a memory only the family would know, or a sense of peace. I go slowly and check in with you as we go. I am always honest that no one can guarantee who will come through, and if the link is faint, I say so rather than fill the gap.
Family questions that are not about Spirit
Not every family reading involves someone who has passed. People also come with questions about a strained relationship with a parent, a sibling who has drifted, a child leaving home, or patterns that seem to repeat from one generation to the next. A reading can help you see your part in those patterns with compassion, and find a different response.
I felt this energy of comfort and ease… positive guidance and insightful messages.

A quieter pace
Hertford has kept its market-town scale. The streets around the castle grounds and the market square are full of small independent businesses, and many people who live here have chosen it precisely because it is not London. They tend to want a reading that matches that pace: time to settle, time to ask questions, nobody watching the clock.
That suits the way I work. I would much rather give you a calm hour than a rushed half-hour, and I explain each card and impression in plain language so you leave understanding what was said as well as remembering it. For people who run one of those small businesses, the same calm approach can help with decisions about growing, taking on a partner or whether to keep going, and ongoing coaching is available if a single session is not enough.
A slower town also tends to mean slower, deeper questions, the kind turned over for years rather than weeks: whether to leave a long marriage, how to make peace with a parent before it is too late, what they want the second half of their life to hold. Those questions deserve patience, and I give them that.
Is a Zoom reading from Ware or Bengeo as good as meeting in person?
Yes. The reading itself is the same; only the setting changes, and for many people a familiar room is the better setting.
For a quiet, private reading, Zoom is hard to beat. You choose the room, light a candle if that helps, and we talk without anyone else in earshot. It is especially kind for mediumship, because grief does not always want an audience or a train journey home afterwards.
You might finish a session by walking down to the river. The towpath of the Lee Navigation starts in Hertford and follows the water south through Ware, and half an hour beside it is a good way to let a reading settle before you speak to anyone else. If emotions run high, give yourself that space; there is no need to rush back into the day.
On screen I use the same intuitive senses, oracle cards and energy awareness I would use across a table. My page on reading over a video call explains how to prepare. Prices are set out once here so you can plan: £75 for 30 minutes or £135 for 60 minutes on Zoom, and £100 or £160 in London.
Two stations, two routes: Hertford North and Hertford East
Hertford is unusual in having two railway stations on two different lines, a legacy of two separate railway companies reaching the town in the nineteenth century. Hertford North is on the Great Northern Hertford loop, with trains to King's Cross and Moorgate; the quickest reach King's Cross in about 45 minutes. Hertford East, and Ware next to it, are on the Greater Anglia line to Liverpool Street. Which suits you depends on which side of the town you live and where in London we are meeting.
Anyone weighing up the face-to-face option can find more on sitting with me in London, including how long to allow. Give yourself enough time; I would rather you arrive calm than dash in. Off-peak trains on the Hertford loop are quieter and cheaper, so a late-morning start suits most diaries. If travelling is not realistic, perhaps because you care for someone at home in Bengeo or simply find London draining, stay with Zoom; nothing about the reading is lost.
Learning mediumship one to one
Sometimes the person who books a mediumship reading discovers they have a sensitivity of their own: a grandmother's presence in the kitchen, dreams that feel like visits, a knowing that turns out to be right. If that rings true, it may be time to train that gift with care.
My one-to-one mentoring is shaped around your own experiences and goes only as fast as feels right, with Zoom sessions so you need not travel. We work on grounding, self-trust, discernment and a steady, ethical way of connecting with Spirit. If you would prefer a group, structured courses are also available, and the free Intuitive Clarity Consultation is where we weigh the two. It lasts 20 minutes on Zoom, and I do not read for you during it.
I am normally resistant to give 5 star ratings, but I have truly been moved by Michelle's guidance.

If you are comparing other towns, my Hertfordshire page covers the rest of the county. And a gentle reminder: readings and mediumship offer comfort and guidance, but they are not a substitute for medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, nor for bereavement counselling. I work with clients aged 18 or over.
