From Hitchin or Letchworth, a psychic reading is simplest on Zoom, at home or in the workshop. Seeing me in person involves a train into London, and I share the meeting point after booking.
Letchworth was the world's first garden city, begun in the early 1900s on Ebenezer Howard's idea that a town could be designed around wellbeing, with Arts and Crafts cottages, green space and a belief that ordinary life could be better. Hitchin, a few minutes away, is an older market town with a church by the river Hiz and a market that has traded for centuries. Between them they have long attracted makers, idealists and people who run small, independent businesses. I'm Michelle Virtue, a professionally trained Psychic Medium, Spiritual Coach and Intuitive Teacher, and what follows explains how a psychic reading or a development course with me works from here.
The short version: I don't hold sessions in Hitchin, Letchworth or Baldock, nor any local class or room.
Oracle card readings for Hitchin's makers and independent traders
People who make things for a living, or who run a small shop or a one-person business, often live closely with uncertainty. Sales come in waves. A commission lands or falls through. You wonder whether to raise your prices, take on a stall, or stop doing the thing that drains you and start the thing you keep sketching in the margins.
Oracle cards suit those questions well. They are visual, symbolic and gently direct, and many creative people find they think in exactly that way. In an oracle card reading I lay out a spread, tune into what each card is showing about your situation, and explain the meaning in everyday terms. I also bring in my own intuitive impressions, so the cards are a starting point rather than a script. You leave with images you can return to, and a few practical next steps.
People sometimes ask how oracle cards differ from tarot. A tarot deck always has 78 cards, each with long-established meanings, while oracle decks vary widely and tend to carry a single clear message or theme on each card. I find oracle cards gentler for a first reading, and more open to intuition, because the card prompts the reading rather than dictating it. For someone who thinks in colour, texture and pattern, that freedom often feels familiar.
Michelle identified behaviours and patterns holding me back with astonishing accuracy and provided helpful advice to overcome these.

Psychic development for Letchworth's curious minds
A town founded on a utopian idea tends to draw people who like to explore. Letchworth's early residents were famous for their interest in crafts, simple living, vegetarianism and the inner life, and something of that open-minded spirit is still part of the town's character. If you are one of them and have begun to wonder about your own intuition, learning to develop it properly is a natural next step.
Teaching on my structured development courses happens live, in small groups, and is split into three levels; any level can be studied privately with me by people who learn better alone. The work builds steadily:
- Grounding and energetic protection, so you feel safe before you open up.
- Recognising how your intuition speaks to you, through images, feelings, words or simple knowing.
- Practising readings, including with cards, and learning discernment.
- Deepening your connection with Spirit, and mediumship for those drawn to it.
I am encouraging and kind as a teacher, and I also expect commitment, because that is how confidence grows. Ask me at the free consultation and I will go through what each level currently includes and when the next group starts.
Michelle is a wonderful and powerful teacher. She creates an encouraging and beautiful environment to follow your intuition and lean into this path.

Zoom from home or the workshop
For most people in North Hertfordshire, Zoom is the easiest way to work with me. Baldock, out on the edge of the county, is a fair distance from London, and even Hitchin means a train journey of over half an hour each way before you count the walk at either end. Zoom lets you have a full session and be back at the workbench, or the shop counter, straight afterwards.
It is also more private. In a small town where people know each other from the market square and the school gate, some prefer that nobody sees them heading off for a reading. On Zoom, the only person who needs to know is you. Choose a time when the house or the shop is quiet, put your phone on silent, and give yourself ten minutes afterwards before you pick up the next task.
The reading itself is no different on screen. I can show you the cards I draw by holding them up to the camera, and you are welcome to keep notes. My guide to readings on Zoom sets out what to prepare. A Zoom reading costs £75 for 30 minutes or £135 for 60, and a London session costs £100 or £160.
How long is the train from Hitchin to King's Cross?
About 35 minutes on the fastest services, so Hitchin is well placed for an in-person session. Great Northern trains run from Hitchin to King's Cross and Thameslink trains to St Pancras, next door, and Letchworth Garden City and Baldock have stations on the Cambridge branch that feeds into the same line. A late-morning train gives you time to arrive calmly, sit for an hour, and still be home before the school run.
My page on in-person London sessions explains what to expect in the room. From Baldock or the villages, the drive or bus to a station can double the trip, so check the whole door-to-door time before choosing; if it feels like a day out you can't spare, Zoom is the sensible call.
Where to begin if you're unsure
If you are torn between a reading and a course, the free Intuitive Clarity Consultation is the right place to start. It is a 20-minute Zoom conversation, not a reading, in which I hear what is going on for you and recommend a route: a single card reading, a series of sessions, a development course, or one-to-one mentoring. For creative business owners, my ongoing intuitive coaching may also be worth a mention, and I can explain how it differs.
The academy's hours are 9am to 5pm, every day of the week, and if you are booking from abroad, the calendar lets you switch to your local time zone. My county page for Hertfordshire covers the routes from Stevenage, Hertford and the other towns.
Please keep in mind that readings and courses offer spiritual guidance. They are not a substitute for medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, and every client must be 18 or over.
