For Canterbury, Whitstable and Herne Bay, Zoom is the realistic way to have a psychic reading or join my teaching, because London is a long day out from east Kent. A face-to-face sitting is still possible: the high-speed service from Canterbury West takes roughly an hour to St Pancras, and the details of where we meet follow once it's booked.

This page is written for people in Canterbury, Whitstable and Herne Bay who feel drawn to the spiritual side of life and want to explore it with some care. That includes students at the city's universities who have started to notice their own intuition, people who settled here partly because of the cathedral and everything around it, and anyone along the coast who has had a psychic reading on their list for years without ever getting round to it.

A quick word on who I am. My name is Michelle Virtue, a professionally trained Psychic Medium, Spiritual Coach and Intuitive Teacher based in London. Canterbury is around 54 miles from the centre of the capital, close to the outer edge of the area I cover, and I have no base in east Kent. That is why Zoom comes first throughout this page, and it works very well.

Psychic development courses for Canterbury's seekers

For more than eight centuries people walked to Canterbury looking for something they couldn't find at home, and Chaucer set his pilgrims telling tales on the road down from Southwark. The city still attracts that searching kind of person, the one who reads widely, meditates a little, and has a sense that there is more going on than they have been taught to notice.

If that sounds like you, the lead offer on this page is my psychic development courses. They are structured over three levels of live group training, and you can also do the work privately with me one to one. We look at how intuition actually shows up for you, how to strengthen your connection to Spirit, and above all how to develop discernment, which is the skill of knowing a true impression from an anxious or hopeful thought. Live sessions may be online or in London depending on the current format, and I will tell you which applies when we speak.

Some students come with years of private experience and no one to talk to about it; others arrive knowing only that something has started to shift. Both are welcome, and the course meets you where you are. My teaching is warm, and it is also disciplined. You will practise, you will be asked to ground yourself properly, and you will be expected to treat other people's lives and feelings with respect.

A very well orchestrated class. The teacher is very supportive, with lots of love and kindness, at the same time firm and disciplined in the teaching.

Should I have my reading on Zoom or in London from Canterbury?

For most people in Canterbury, Zoom is the better fit, though an in-person session in London is possible. The high-speed service from Canterbury West reaches St Pancras in about an hour, which is quick for the distance. But once you add the trip to the station, any waiting, the walk at the other end and the same again going home, a 30-minute reading becomes most of a day. From Whitstable or Herne Bay, the rail connections make it longer still.

There is also the question of afterwards. A reading can stir things up, in a good way, and many people like a quiet hour to let it settle. At home you can make a cup of tea, take the dog along the sea wall or simply sit with your notes, instead of finding your way back through King's Cross at rush hour.

That is why I suggest an online session on Zoom to most people in this part of Kent. Nothing is lost by it. I read your energy, not the furniture, and you get to stay somewhere familiar, which helps a lot of first-timers relax. If you would like one face-to-face sitting as an occasion, perhaps tied to a day out in London, that is welcome too, and where we meet is confirmed once it is booked.

If you do choose London, make the day an occasion on purpose. Book a late-morning slot so you can travel off-peak on the high-speed line, which is usually cheaper as well as quieter, and keep the afternoon free so you aren't heading home in the rush with a head full of things to think about. Students on a tight budget will usually find Zoom from halls the more sensible option.

A first psychic reading as a student

Students make up a large part of Canterbury's population in term time, and they bring their own questions: whether they have picked the right course, what comes after graduation, a relationship that is pulling them in two directions, or the strange experiences that sometimes surface when people leave home for the first time. A few things are worth knowing before you book.

  • You need to be 18 or over. That is a firm rule for every reading, course and session.
  • A reading is guidance, not a substitute for medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. If you are struggling, your university's wellbeing team and your GP are there for you, and I would always encourage you to use them alongside anything we do.
  • Thirty minutes on Zoom is £75 and is plenty for a first reading focused on one question.
  • Your room in halls will do, provided a flatmate isn't likely to knock mid-session. Headphones help if the walls are thin.

This was my first experience having any form of psychic reading… as soon as I arrived I was put at ease.

Mediumship and Reiki for families in Whitstable and Herne Bay

Whitstable's harbour, its oyster heritage and the beach huts out towards Tankerton belong to families who have often lived on this coast for a long time. When one of those family members dies, the loss can be bound up with the place itself: a walk along the shingle, a dinghy on the beach, a seat that someone always sat in. A mediumship sitting on Zoom gives you room to sit with that at home. I describe what comes to me and check it with you. No one can guarantee who will come through. Even so, a sitting can still bring real comfort when the person you hoped for doesn't step forward.

For people who are tired more than they are curious, healing can be the kinder starting point. As a Certified Reiki Master Practitioner, I give Reiki and energy healing in person in London only, so from Whitstable or Herne Bay it pairs best with a day you are already coming up. It isn't something I offer over Zoom. Reiki is complementary: it can help you rest and feel lighter, but it doesn't replace medical care or the advice of your doctor.

Starting step by step from home

  1. Book the free Intuitive Clarity Consultation. It lasts 20 minutes on Zoom and it is a conversation, not a reading.
  2. Tell me what has brought you here: a question you want a reading on, a wish to develop, or a need to rest and heal.
  3. I'll suggest what fits, whether that's a single reading, a course, private mentoring or a healing session, and you decide in your own time.

Psychic Readings in Canterbury & Whitstable: FAQs

Is it worth travelling from Canterbury to London for an in-person reading?

For most people in Canterbury it isn't necessary, because a Zoom reading gives the same depth without the travel. If you would enjoy the occasion, the high-speed train from Canterbury West takes about an hour to St Pancras. In-person sessions are held only in London, by appointment, and cost a little more than Zoom. Some people choose one London sitting and do everything else online.

Can a university student in Canterbury book a reading with you?

Yes, as long as you are 18 or over. Many students find a 30-minute Zoom reading from their room easiest, especially during term. Readings offer guidance on things like course choices, relationships or what comes next, but they are not a replacement for your university's wellbeing support or your GP, and I would encourage you to use those too.

Can I join a psychic development course online from Whitstable?

Yes. One-to-one tuition is taught entirely on screen, and whether the group levels meet online at the moment is something I will confirm for you, so living in Whitstable or Herne Bay needn't hold you back. The courses run across three structured levels. The best way to find out about the current syllabus and next start dates is to book the free 20-minute Clarity Consultation.

Could you lead an intuitive evening for a group at a Canterbury venue?

It may be possible. Private gatherings, such as an intuitive circle or a guided evening for friends, can take place at whichever venue suits you, including one in Canterbury or Whitstable. Each event is planned individually with no set price list. Drop me a line through the website about the occasion, the rough numbers and the date you have in mind.
